Beginning from Spengler, the story interrogates the nature of intelligences, animal and artificial alike, and folds the question back upon itself in a mise en abyme of minds granted a depth they were never meant to hold. Or you can simply read it.
It was selected as a finalist for the Concours des Nouvelles Avancées on the theme “Intelligences?”, with the result announced on 20 May 2026 at the Panthéon in Paris. It did not take one of the top three places, but reaching the finals among the year's submissions was a quiet honor in itself.
